The callousness of heart and sternness is in the East and faith is among the people of the Hijaz.
Narrated by It is reported on the authority of Jabir b. Abdullah that the Messenger of Allah (may peace and, blessings be upon him) observed:

Narrated by This hadith has been transmitted on the authority of Abu Huraira through other chains of narrators and there is no mention of:

“Lest they become as those who received the Scripture before, and the term was prolonged for them and so their hearts were hardened? And many of them were rebellious.”

there was no more than four years between their becoming Muslim and
the revelation of this Verse, by which Allah reprimanded them:
