The Book of Zakat
(The miserly man) tries to expand it (the coat-of-mail) but it does not expand.
Narrated by Abu Haraira reported that the likeness of one who spends or one who gives charity is that of a person who has two cloaks or two coats-of-mail over him right from the breast to the collar bones. And when the spender (and the other narrator said, when the giver of charity) makes up his mind to give charity, it (coat-mail) becomes expanded for him. But when a miserly person intends to spend, it contracts and every ring grips the place where it is. For the giver of charity, this coat-of. mail expands to cover his whole body and obliterates even his footprints. Abu Huraira said:

Who collects wealth and [continuously] counts it.
سُورَةُ المَسَدِ

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

مَآ أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُ مَالُهُۥ وَمَا كَسَبَ
His wealth will not avail him or that which he gained.
سُورَةُ الإِسۡرَاءِ
Al-Israa (The Night Journey)
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
1 ayah
وَلَا تَجْعَلْ يَدَكَ مَغْلُولَةً إِلَىٰ عُنُقِكَ وَلَا تَبْسُطْهَا كُلَّ ٱلْبَسْطِ فَتَقْعُدَ مَلُومًۭا مَّحْسُورًا
And do not make your hand [as] chained to your neck or extend it completely and [thereby] become blamed and insolvent.
سُورَةُ المَعَارِجِ
Al-Ma'aarij (The Ascending Stairways)
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
1 ayah
وَجَمَعَ فَأَوْعَىٰٓ
And collected [wealth] and hoarded.
سُورَةُ الأَعۡلَىٰ
Al-A'laa (The Most High)
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
1 ayah
وَيَتَجَنَّبُهَا ٱلْأَشْقَى
But the wretched one will avoid it -
